Whether you use Alkaline or Lithium (non rechargeable) batteries, or NiMH and NiCD rechargeable batteries, you can benefit from related products to test, organize, store, transport and even change them! Well, when we say, we mean, “adapt”. Read on to discover what we mean….
First, we’ll describe our Battery Adapters.
Battery Adapters convert small batteries into larger ones. Well, when we say convert, we mean their size. No longer do you need to own batteries in all sizes, if you only use a couple of sizes in total. Battery Adapters will allow you to power your battery-operated devices if the batteries you own are too little to fit into battery compartment. They’re really a truly practical solution!
So as you can see, you need never again be out of luck, in operating an old radio or CD player that needs c or d batteries if you have aa or aaa batteries and battery adapters. Get some at the top of this page! You only have to buy them once and you’re good to go from then on!
Here We Cover Battery Cases
Many people have cluttered work spaces, work-shops, and offices. Their briefcases and knapsacks might look as though they’ve been ransacked! Yikes! It’s battery cases to the rescue! They’ll keep your batteries from rolling off the tabletop, keep them from hiding under paperwork in your drawer or briefcase and are just plain sensible to use to store and protect your batteries. We have cases for so many other things in our lives. Why not for our batteries too?
Does your workshop have loose batteries in it, sometimes rolling off the table?
Battery Racks Rock!
No matter how many or how few batteries have, a battery rack will house all your batteries neatly and out of the way from where you actually live and work. Most batteries are cylindrical and roll around if not held in place. Always have your AA, AAA, AAAA, C, D and 9 Volt batteries front-facing, neatly placed in battery rack and always know where to find them!
Now We Get to Battery Testers
As we mentioned, regardless of the chemistry of your batteries or if they are rechargeable or not, battery testers have been around for a long time and serve an extremely useful purpose, namely, that they test the power of batteries. If you are ever unsure about what power remains in any of your batteries, it’s a battery tester that will tell you. Suppose you’re planning a trip to the beach for the whole day and of course, what’s a day at the beach without a portable radio. Everyone gathers around it listening to songs as they tan on a gigantic beach blanket. Well, the batteries required for that radio are likely C’s or D’s. And you’d want to know they are charged full before you head out for the day. That’s just one example of where a battery tester would be useful to you. Anytime at all that it would help you to know the strength left in your cells without having to guess at it, is when a battery tester does the trick.
In terms of rechargeable batteries, NiMH cells do not suffer from something called memory effect. This means that you don’t have to wait until they are fully “dead” before charging them. In cells that to sustain memory effect, you must wait until the battery has no more power in it before recharging, so as not to lessen it’s memory to the point where they are topped off. NiCD (Nickel Cadmium) rechargeable batteries however, can suffer from this effect and so they must only be charged and recharged once they are fully discharged. You can therefore use your battery tester on NiCD’s to see what power exactly, remains in them and know when and if to charge. Of course, with all non rechargeable batteries, it’s always helpful to know how much power remains in them for whatever your application is. You might be intending to attend a sporting event or birthday party for example. You might wish to capture the moments on video or take still shots. Instead of carrying around additional batteries to use in case the ones in your camera “die”, testing them first with a battery tester will ensure you only take the fully charged cells with you to your event.
Battery testers, cases, racks, and adapters all cost very little relative to the services they perform and benefits they offer you for the use, and maintenance of your inventory of batteries.
